Damian Lillard Sets Bucks Post Season Record

With two time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo on the bench with a strained left calf, Damian Lillard set a post-season Milwaukee record by scoring 35 points against the Indiana Pacers in the first half of the Eastern Conference 1st play off series game. The highest individual first half total in a playoff game since 2019 when Kevin Durant scored 38 for the Golden State Warriors against the LA Clippers. Although he had no points in the second half, the Milwaukee Bucks continued the momentum, defeating the Pacers 109 to 94.

Elsewhere around the NBA:

Despite a lofty performance by the New Orleans Pelicans matching the Thunder point for point in the first two periods and scoring 25 and 24 points in the third and fourth periods respectively, they were unable to fly above the storm and fell to OKC by two points in a nail-biter Sunday night in game 1 of their playoff series in Oklahoma City. Final score Thunder 94, Pelicans 92.

The LA Clippers sailed past the Dallas Mavericks 109 -97 in Los Angeles.

Also on Sunday the Boston Celtics kept their cool and beat the Miami Heat 114 -94 in Boston.

Saturday's Games:

In Denver the Nuggets struck gold, beating the LA Lakers 114- 103.

In NYC the Knicks knocked down the 76ers 111-104.

In Minneapolis the Timberwolves eclipsed the Phoenix Suns 120-95.

And in Cleveland the Cavaliers worked their own magic over Orlando 97-83.

The first games of round 1 of the playoffs turned out to be very good for the home teams this weekend.
