Hasta La Vista Pothole

Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger took matters into his own hands on Tuesday, when he fixed a giant pothole that had been plaguing his Brentwood neighborhood for weeks.

Schwarzenegger, who is known for his action movie roles, shared a video on Twitter of himself and two other men using packaged concrete to repair the road. The video was set to the sound of some funky tunes.

“Today, after the whole neighborhood has been upset about this giant pothole that’s been screwing up cars and bicycles for weeks, I went out with my team and fixed it,” Schwarzenegger tweeted. “I always say, let’s not complain, let’s do something about it. Here you go.”

The pothole was located on San Vicente Boulevard, near the intersection of Bundy Drive. It was about two feet wide and several inches deep.

Schwarzenegger said that he had waited three weeks for the city to repair the pothole before taking matters into his own hands.

“I’m not a pothole expert, but I know how to use a shovel and some concrete,” Schwarzenegger said. “I’m glad I could help out my neighbors.”

The video of Schwarzenegger fixing the pothole has been viewed over 1 million times on Twitter. Many people have praised Schwarzenegger for his willingness to get his hands dirty and help out his community.

“This is what a real leader looks like,” one Twitter user wrote. “Not just sitting around complaining, but actually doing something to make a difference.”

Another Twitter user said, “Arnold Schwarzenegger is a true inspiration. He’s always willing to help out his community, no matter how small the task.”

Schwarzenegger is not the first celebrity to take matters into their own hands when it comes to fixing potholes. In 2019, actor Mark Wahlberg filled a pothole in his hometown of Boston. And in 2020, actress Jennifer Lawrence filled a pothole in her neighborhood in New York City.

These celebrities are setting a good example for all of us. If we see a pothole, let’s not just complain about it. Let’s do something about it.
