Mahogany LOX: From Viral Videos to the Recording Studio
Mahogany, you are an incredibly talented influencer and have demonstrated that with your music and comedy videos. Do you remember the moment you realized you were becoming a popular online entertainer?
"Yes!! I remember when one of my Instagram photos hit 10,000 likes for the first time!!! This was before “influencer” was even a term, and I was so excited!!! I couldn’t believe how many people were following me! It all started because I joined a tour called MAGCON, and I was the only girl and the only DJ! I’ll forever be thankful to MAGCON and Sam Pottorff ( who invited me) for changing my life."
Tell us a little bit about how you started in music and singing. Are you formally trained or a natural?
"I’ve wanted to be a pop star all my life! I’ve always loved performing and dancing with people on stage, so once I was old enough, I started singing lessons on and off! "
Your singles "Take Your Man", "Queen", "loving you", "Merry LiTMAS," and many more over the past several years are terrific! Any plans to drop more music for 2023?
"Thank you! Yes! I actually have a song coming out on February 17th with Sky Blu of LMFAO it’s called GASLiGHT (fun fact: he’s my brother!)"
You obviously have a natural talent for being funny; your videos speak volumes about that. Do you have a process for creating your videos, or do the ideas flow naturally?

"You think I’m funny? Thank you!!! I just film whatever inspires me that day! Either a trend or a funny idea that pops into my head!"
What are some of the pros of achieving fame and continuing success?
"Being able to follow my dreams. I’m so thankful that people love and support my music. It means everything to me. I can’t wait to tour and meet all my LOXSmiths!"

"There aren’t many cons, but the one thing that comes to mind is sometimes people think they know you based off a 15-second video when there’s much more to you than that."
Do you plan on performing in any significant events/gigs in 2023?
"Yes! We have some plans we are working on! Once they are finalized, I'll be able to announce it!"
Any other exciting work you are doing this year that you would like to share with us?
"Right now, my focus is on GASLiGHT with Sky. It’s such a fun song I can’t wait to share it with everyone on February 17th!!! There will definitely be more music coming after this one too!
