Music Can Help To Alleviate The Holiday Blues
There are few things as comforting as a good tune on a cold winter night. But for some people, the holidays can be a particularly tough time. This is especially true for people who suffer from depression or other mental health issues.

Studies have shown that listening to music can help alleviate the symptoms of depression and make people feel happier. In fact, some studies have even shown that music can be as effective as antidepressant medications in treating mental health conditions.

If you’re struggling during the holidays, there are plenty of ways to get your groove on. Here are five tips for incorporating music into your holiday season:

1. Listen to music while you cook or clean. A study published in the journal Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback found that people who listened to music while they did chores felt less tense and happier than those who didn’t listen to music. So whether you’re whipping up a turkey or washing dishes, it might be helpful to crank up some tunes!

2. Tune intoholiday classics. Christmas carols are a perennial favorite among listeners of all ages, and there are plenty of great holiday tunes out there to choose from. If you don’t have any holiday favorites yet, try searching for songs that reflect your own personal values or experiences.

3. Listen to music while you do tasks around the house that you don’t usually enjoy. Maybe it’s cleaning out the garage, sorting through mail, or tackling laundry duty – whatever it is, try listening to something that makes you happy and takes your mind off of what needs to be done.

4. Take advantage of streaming services like Pandora and Spotify . These services offer a wide variety of genres and styles, so there’s bound to be something for everyone on Pandora or Spotify . And since these services are easy to use on your phone or computer, you can listen whenever and wherever you want!

5. Play some soothing tracks when you need to relax or fall asleep . Some people find classical pieces or mellow jazz soothing when they need some peace and quiet during the night. Whatever works for you – just make sure it’s something that will help lull you off to sleep without making too much noise!
