The inspiration for the series traces back to Saint Agnes Church in Rome, where Young Man Kang encountered the story of Saint Agnes, a 13-year-old Christian martyr. According to historical accounts, Procopius, son of the powerful Roman official Prefect Sempronius, sought to marry Agnes, but she refused due to her unwavering faith. As a result, she was martyred. Years later, Constantina, daughter of Emperor Constantine the Great, prayed to Saint Agnes for healing when no cure could be found for her illness. After experiencing a miraculous recovery, Constantine built the church in Saint Agnes' honor. This profound narrative of faith and mysticism became the foundation for the Prayer Series, which continues to explore deeply personal and cultural expressions of spirituality.
