 AAPI Delegation Meets Health Minister JP Nadda and NITI Aayog Team during the 18th Global Health Summit.

Delhi – October 23(USANews.com) – Every doctor of Indian origin residing in America is deeply committed to safeguarding the health of their motherland, said Dr. Satish Kathula, President of AAPI (American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin). He revealed that it was in this spirit that the 18th Global Health Summit was organized, lasting for three days.

During the summit, which took place at AIIMS, Delhi, and concluded on October 20, a key focus was placed on recognizing Family Medicine as a specialized discipline in India. Dr. Kathula emphasized the need to implement preventive measures to combat the rising prevalence of cancer and heart attacks. He mentioned that the AAPI delegation met with Union Health Minister JP Nadda and officials from NITI Aayog, urging them to take actions that would ensure comprehensive medical services, including cancer screenings and preventive care.


The meeting with the Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda and NITI Aayog officials included key representatives from API President Dr. Satish Kattula, President-Elect Dr. Amit Chakravarthy, BOT Chair Dr. Sunil Khaja, Regional Director Dr. Vasu Singh, and Global Medical Education Chair Dr. Lokesh, among others.


Several medical specialists presented their experiences and shared their expertise at the 18th Global Health Summit, enlightening hundreds of research students on how to understand various diseases better. The summit also featured numerous Global Health Paper Presentations, showcasing cutting-edge research. For the first time, AAPI Fellowship Awards were conferred upon three individuals at this summit.

In addition to cancer and heart attacks, Dr. Kathula emphasized the need for the central government to take steps to prevent various other diseases. He stressed the importance of mandatory screening for blood pressure, heart, kidney, and cancer conditions for everyone over the age of 40 and called for comprehensive treatment to ensure a healthy India.
