For me, it was a normal thing that meant a lot of work, family bringing each other a plate of food to the field at 10 pm and eating it quickly so the work could continue. As I have gotten older, I realize that experience is exactly the same for the locals when I go to a new place. The people walking around Prague are used to seeing the pretty bridges every day and it means dodging tourists. A local market in Vietnam is nothing special for the people who are there every day. But not being accustomed to those things makes them new for me, and I want to capture them with a perspective the locals might take for granted. One of the biggest compliments for me is when a local sees a photo of something they see regularly and says they never had seen the subject that way. That is the benefit of seeing the world with new eyes.

Brian has lived in England and Germany and has visited almost every country in Europe. Italy, Spain, and Portugal are his favorites because there are so many opportunities to learn history, culture, and to photograph.
