Moab’s Folk Festival and Trail Marathon share one November weekend, with Edge of the Desert offering tiny homes near Arches National Park.

MOAB, UTAH | October 2026. November is when Moab exhales. The summer heat has gone, the cottonwoods along Mill Creek turn gold, and the town fills with two very different crowds who want the same thing: room to breathe after a big day. On November 6 to 8, 2026, the 24th Moab Folk Festival brings singer-songwriters, Americana and bluegrass to downtown Moab, while the Moab Trail Marathon sends runners into the canyons on November 7 and 8. Edge of the Desert, a collection of pet-friendly tiny homes on Mill Creek Drive, is ready to be a base camp for both.

10 min To Arches NP

90 days Max stay

Festival weekend in a hotel usually means a hallway, an ice machine and a neighbor's TV through the wall. At Edge of the Desert you get your own tiny home with a full kitchen, a private porch facing the red rock, and the kind of quiet that lets a Saturday night set keep ringing in your head. It's about a mile and a half to downtown and Star Hall, and 10 minutes to Arches National Park, so you can fit a sunrise hike in before the Ballfield Stage opens.

Every tiny home has its own porch. Bring a coffee out at sunrise or a blanket after the show.

Moab's big November weekend, and an October ultra

Nov 6–8 Folk Festival

24th Moab Folk Festival. Friday and Saturday night concerts fill historic Star Hall, and Saturday and Sunday daytime shows take over the Moab City Ballpark. Rising Appalachia headlines the Ballfield Stage on Saturday, and Leftover Salmon closes the festival on Sunday. Steve Poltz opens Saturday night at Star Hall, with Jordan Smart and The Rebel Eves also on the Saturday bill. Musicians who want to arrive early can join Moab Folk Camp at the MARC, November 1 to 5. Tickets for each venue are sold separately at moabfolkfestival.com.

Nov 7–8 Trail Marathon

Moab Trail Marathon. A marathon, half marathon, 10K adventure run and Kids K wind through some of the most scenic trail country in the West. In 2026 the race hosts the USATF Trail Half Marathon National Championships and the Collegiate Trail Running Championships, so expect a fast field and a lively finish area. Details and registration are at moabtrailmarathon.com.

Oct 9–13 Moab 240

Moab 240 Trail Race. The sold-out 2026 race covers 241.8 miles of desert, canyon, slickrock and two mountain ranges, with a 112-hour cutoff and 15 full aid stations, including five sleep stations. Edge of the Desert is hosting runners and crews this year. A five-day race is easier to support from a tiny home with a kitchen, laundry on site and a porch to rest on between crew stops.

Make it a week. Moab Folk Camp week through festival weekend, November 1 to 8, is a 7-night stay, and stays of 7 nights or more get 15% off automatically at checkout. Stays of 30 nights or more get 20% off. No code needed.

Why a tiny home beats a hotel room on festival weekend

Moab in November is cool, clear and bright. Days are made for trail runs, Arches and long lunches, and nights get cold enough that you'll want heat and a real bed. Every Edge of the Desert tiny home has either a king or a queen bed, and each one sleeps 4 to 6 guests, so a band of friends, a running club or a family can share one place and split the cooking. Nightly stays work for a weekend, and stays of up to 90 days work for anyone who decides one weekend isn't enough.

Pets are welcome too, up to 2 per stay for a $75 flat fee with no deposit. The property is smoke-free indoors, and booking is always direct through edgeofthedesert.com.

Inside, a full kitchen and real beds. Pre-race pasta and post-show pancakes both welcome.

What guests say

This has everything you need in a home away from home. It's cozy, comfortable, clean, quiet, cool and equipped with coffee!!! ... We enjoyed our morning coffee while relaxing on the front deck. I'd like to hook this tiny house up and tow it back to South Dakota.

Jaina R., Google review

...location was convenient for hiking the Arches and shopping in town. They had a great side yard that was enclosed with a privacy fence that was great for grilling and letting my dog run around safely.

Melissa H., Google review

Beautiful house! We enjoyed our stay very much!! It has all you need: pots, pans, utensils, toaster, towels, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and plenty more comforting items to make this place a home. I highly recommend staying at Edge of The Desert!!
