Small acts of contact become great love that can change the world. In this era of AI, what we need are more human actions. More kindness, more compassion, more tolerance. We hope that all people and organizations will incorporate ‘love’ into their daily lives. May the power of love reach every person.
The core members leading this initiative were three Japanese women committed to empowering women in Japan:
Kyoko Spector, media figure who has long advocated for women’s rights and education
Mayumi Satoi, food journalist and SDGs Satoi Chestnut brand ambassador
Machiko Ikeoka, Japan Representative of Femmes du Monde, active in cultural, empathic, and community-driven initiatives
Femmes du Monde Foundation, an international non-profit organization based in Geneva, Switzerland, was involved in the planning of this event. The foundation supports the empowerment of women through creativity, education, and sustainable development. It began in 2000 with a project to support women in Sri Lanka’s tea plantations and has since built a community network supporting thousands of women worldwide, including in Japan.
Mrs. Akie Abe, former First Lady of Japan and a long-time advocate for women’s empowerment and international cultural exchange, served as patron of the event.

The world’s largest AKAI ITO Guinness, created by the collective effort of participants, became a symbol of female-led movements and global solidarity. Each knot tied carried messages of “love,” “peace,” and “hope” submitted from people around the world.
“I want to share with you today this belief: Imagination is the power that changes the world. Imagination takes us beyond what is real. The AKAI ITO, symbolizing infinite possibilities, allows us to create freely, beyond convention and limits—that’s the power of imagination. Our mission is to spread this DNA of transformation throughout the world. Here at Expo Osaka, where diverse cultures and values intersect, we tie this AKAI ITO together, beyond borders and backgrounds, with one shared purpose: To shape love.”
— Machiko Ikeoka
“To take on a world record is to believe that anything is possible—and to share that pride together. When we work together, we can make miracles happen. We believe that love is the most circulating energy in the universe. We see the world through how we choose to live.”
— Maïté Brunet, Président, Femmes du Monde Foundation
This event, held in front of Expo visitors, offered attendees the rare experience of witnessing a Guinness World Record™ moment and was a moving occasion celebrating the values of freedom, equality, and women’s empowerment, which both France and the Femmes du Monde Foundation proudly uphold.
