Ryan Peterson: A Diverse Career Journey in Radio, Law Enforcement, and Legal Services
Apr 27, 2025
Ryan Peterson, a retired radio air personality and police officer, has led a life full of unexpected twists, daring experiences, and humor. Over his 12-year career in radio and his 19 years of service in law enforcement, Peterson’s path has been shaped by adaptability and dedication. After retiring from his role as Chief of Police in 2015, Peterson transitioned into a new career as a process server with his business, Legal Paper Services, in Wisconsin—a journey that reflects his commitment to professional growth and success.
Peterson’s career in radio began in small and medium-sized markets, where he became known for his engaging on-air presence. His time behind the microphone honed his ability to connect with people and entertain audiences. However, his career took a bold turn when he transitioned from radio to law enforcement—a field that might seem worlds apart from the media industry. Despite the differences, Peterson discovered that core skills like communication, problem-solving, and resilience were invaluable in both professions.

As a police officer, Peterson faced many challenges, including high-stress situations where quick thinking and calm under pressure were essential. One defining moment of his law enforcement career was a dangerous incident where he fought with a suicidal male subject while a freight train sped by them. Read “Navigating Life’s Current’s” to learn how Ryan and the suicidal subject both survived.
Although details of this experience are difficult to fully convey, it’s clear that Peterson’s ability to navigate such risks with professionalism and bravery defined his time in the field.
After retiring from law enforcement, Peterson channeled his skills into his new venture, Legal Paper Services, which he founded in 2018. As a process server, he utilizes his previous career experiences to offer excellent service to individuals and companies needing legal document delivery. His time in law enforcement provided him with a unique understanding of the legal system, while his years in radio helped him maintain effective communication with clients.

Peterson’s journey is a testament to the power of professional reinvention. He thrived in both radio and law enforcement, thanks to a blend of talent, hard work, and adaptability. Today, as a business owner, he continues to serve his community with the same level of dedication that defined his previous careers.
Whether behind a microphone or in the line of duty as a police officer, Peterson has always strived to excel. Now, in his new role as a process server, he is committed to maintaining the same high standards of service and professionalism.
