Pewaukee, WI – August 4, 2025 – The Westerly Pewaukee, a new senior living community, now offers a model for active older adults who seek to remain connected to their familiar communities. This approach allows individuals to "age in place" within a supportive environment that facilitates continued engagement with the broader Pewaukee area.

Traditional interpretations of aging in place often focus on remaining in one's existing home. The Westerly provides a distinct option by fostering continuous community connection within a purpose-built senior living setting, offering a seamless continuum of care.

The community's location in Pewaukee's Lake Country was chosen to maintain residents' access to local life. This allows individuals to remain connected to familiar shopping, dining, and cultural activities within the region. Over and above this, The Westerly offers enticing social events that bring real value to residents and the broader community.

"Our design and programming aim to keep residents active participants in both The Westerly and the wider Pewaukee area," adds Mara Henningsen, Executive Director of The Westerly Pewaukee. "This is about moving into a community that champions continued engagement, not away from it."

The Westerly offers independent living, assisted living, and memory care options within a single community. This allows residents to transition between care levels while maintaining established friendships and familiar surroundings, minimizing disruptive moves. The architectural design by Galbraith Carnahan Architects and interiors by O&O Studio support this integrated approach.

"We believe The Westerly will serve as an example for how senior living communities can enhance, rather than limit, a person’s connection to their community as they age," states Andy Lange, President and Founder of Koru Health. "This approach addresses a fundamental desire for continuity and well-being for seniors and their families."
