Alexia Delarosa, a well-known social media personality in the “tradwife” movement, is facing backlash from parts of her online community for enthusiastically embracing Halloween. The influencer, who regularly shares content about homemaking, traditional gender roles, and vintage-inspired living, has stirred controversy by decorating her home with spooky-themed décor and sharing festive recipes.

While many of Delarosa’s followers enjoy her Halloween content, a vocal segment of her audience believes the holiday contradicts the traditional and religious values she promotes. Some critics argue that Halloween’s origins in pagan festivals make it incompatible with conservative family values. Others take issue with the commercialization of the holiday, claiming it promotes materialism and secular influences.

“I followed you for wholesome, faith-based content, not witches and skeletons,” one follower commented on a recent Instagram post featuring Delarosa’s Halloween table setup. Another added, “Halloween is a pagan holiday, and I’m disappointed to see you celebrating it.”

Delarosa, however, has defended her love for the holiday, emphasizing that for her, Halloween is about creativity, family bonding, and nostalgia rather than anything sinister. In response to the criticism, she stated: “I grew up loving Halloween—it was always about fun costumes, homemade treats, and making memories with my family. I respect that not everyone celebrates it, but for me, it’s about joy, not darkness.”

This clash reflects larger ideological divides within the tradwife movement, which has grown significantly on social media in recent years. While some women embrace a faith-centered, conservative approach to traditional homemaking, others see it as a broader return to vintage aesthetics, femininity, and domestic skills without strict religious affiliations.

Despite the controversy, Delarosa’s Halloween content continues to attract engagement, with many supporters encouraging her to celebrate in the way that feels right for her family. “Tradition means different things to different people,” one follower wrote. “You’re showing that it’s possible to embrace classic homemaking while still having fun with modern traditions.”

As the debate continues, Delarosa remains firm in her approach, proving that even within niche online communities, personal interpretations of tradition can spark discussion and, at times, division.
