Email: Jack_Palmer@myyahoo.com FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Florida's Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers Face Delays in License Approvals Miami, Florida - June 18, 2024 (USANews.com) - The medical marijuana industry in Florida is facing a significant setback as the state's Department of Health has left 74 pending Medical Marijuana Treatment Center (MMTC) license applicants in a state of uncertainty since April 2023. These applicants, who have invested substantial resources and effort into the application process, are growing increasingly frustrated by the lack of updates and transparency regarding the status of their applications.

The application process for MMTC licenses in Florida is known to be complex, requiring extensive documentation and strict adherence to regulations. Despite meeting these requirements and investing significant amounts of money, some exceeding $1 million, along with a non-refundable application fee of $146,000.00, these individuals have yet to receive any indication of the status of their applications.

In addition to the financial burden of the application fees, MMTC license applicants must also bear the ongoing costs of maintaining leases on agricultural land while awaiting a decision. These expenses can amount to tens of thousands of dollars per month, putting a strain on the finances of these businesses.

We call on the media to investigate the reasons behind the delays in processing MMTC license applications and to demand honest answers from the Florida Department of Health. The livelihoods of numerous individuals and the future of the medical marijuana industry in Florida are at stake, and it is crucial that these issues be addressed promptly and transparently.
