Detroit Found Launches New Platform to Help Metro Detroit Businesses Get Discovered, Find Funding and Grow
The new community-focused platform combines local business discovery, funding opportunities and practical growth resources in one place.

Detroit Found, a new community platform built to support businesses throughout Metro Detroit, has launched with a mission to make it easier for local companies to get discovered, access funding opportunities and find resources that can help them grow.
Unlike traditional business directories that primarily provide names, addresses and reviews, Detroit Found is being built as a broader business resource hub for the region.
The platform allows consumers to discover businesses throughout Metro Detroit while giving business owners the ability to claim and manage their listings, improve their visibility, discover relevant funding opportunities and access tools designed around the challenges of running and growing a local business.
“Metro Detroit has an incredible number of entrepreneurs and small businesses, but many of them are still difficult to discover or don't have easy access to the same resources available to larger companies,” said Elijah, founder of Detroit Found. “We wanted to build something that could help close that gap.”
More Than a Local Business Directory
Detroit Found features businesses across Detroit and surrounding communities including Dearborn, Southfield, Troy, Royal Oak, Pontiac, Warren, Livonia, Sterling Heights and Ann Arbor.
Visitors can browse and discover businesses throughout the region, while owners can claim their profiles and maintain more accurate information about their companies.
But discovery is only one part of the platform's larger vision.
Detroit Found is also developing tools and resources intended to help businesses understand where they can improve and identify opportunities they may otherwise miss.
One major focus is business funding.
The platform collects and organizes grants, funding programs, government opportunities and other resources that may be relevant to Metro Detroit businesses. Instead of requiring owners to continually search dozens of websites and organizations, Detroit Found aims to make those opportunities easier to find in one place.
“There's a lot of help available to businesses, but the information is incredibly fragmented,” Elijah said. “A business owner shouldn't have to spend hours searching government websites, nonprofit programs and different organizations just to find out what opportunities might exist for them.”
Creating More Reasons to Support Local
Detroit Found is also designed to strengthen the connection between residents and the businesses operating in their communities.
Consumers can use the platform to find companies they may not have discovered through larger national platforms, while local businesses gain another channel for reaching potential customers.
The long-term goal is to create an ecosystem where business discovery, resources, funding opportunities and growth tools all live within the same local platform.
Detroit Found is continuing to expand its database of Metro Detroit businesses while developing additional features for business owners who claim their listings.
The company also plans to highlight the people and stories behind local businesses, creating another way for entrepreneurs and companies throughout the region to receive exposure.
Built Around a Larger Mission
Detroit Found was created around a simple idea: strong local businesses create stronger local communities.
Small and midsize businesses are responsible for jobs, neighborhood investment, services and much of the character that makes individual Metro Detroit communities unique.
However, many of those businesses operate without large marketing budgets, dedicated grant researchers or teams responsible for finding growth opportunities.
Detroit Found wants to help make some of those advantages more accessible.
“We're building Detroit Found for the business that may not have a marketing department or someone constantly looking for grants and new opportunities,” Elijah said. “If we can help a great local business get discovered by more people, find funding they didn't know existed or identify something that helps them grow, then the platform is doing what it was built to do.”
Detroit Found is currently available to businesses and consumers throughout Metro Detroit.
Businesses can search for their existing listing or join the platform at DetroitFound.com.
