How One AI Startup Is Turning Overlooked Diagnoses Into Recovered Revenue for Hospitals

Syauctus AI combines clinical intelligence with AI to help hospitals capture every diagnosis their care supports

With hospital and revenue cycle partners across the country, the startup is betting that clinical intelligence, applied before billing, can recover revenue that providers have already earned.

Every year, US hospitals deliver care that never fully shows up on the claim. A complication goes undocumented, a chronic condition is not coded, or a diagnosis buried in a physician's note never reaches the billing team. Syauctus AI, the company behind Pre-Bill AI, wants to close that gap before the claim leaves the building.

The push comes as US hospitals contend with thin operating margins, rising labor costs and growing payer scrutiny over how diagnoses are documented and coded, pressures that have made revenue integrity a priority for health system finance leaders.

The company now works with multiple partners across the United States, including hospitals and revenue cycle management (RCM) companies, to put its clinical intelligence platform into day-to-day billing workflows.

A Revenue Problem Hiding in the Chart

Most revenue integrity tools focus on what happens after a claim is submitted: denials, appeals and rework. Pre-Bill AI starts earlier. It looks at what the clinical record actually supports and flags diagnoses that were documented, or clearly indicated, but never captured.

Those gaps matter twice. They leave earned reimbursement on the table, and they understate how sick a hospital's patients really are. That affects risk-adjusted quality scores, benchmarking and future payment rates.

"Hospitals don't have a care problem, they have a capture problem," said Siddharth Bose, co-founder of Syauctus AI. "The clinical evidence is already in the chart. We make sure it shows up on the claim, accurately and defensibly."

How the Technology works

Pre-Bill AI reviews patient charts after the encounter is documented but before the claim is finalized. It reads physician notes, lab results, imaging reports and other clinical documentation, then surfaces diagnoses the evidence supports but the coding does not yet reflect.

At the core of this product is a proprietary Machine Learning model the company developed with a team of practicing physicians across multiple specialties. Those physicians helped train and validate the model on a large corpus of de-identified patient charts, teaching it to recognize the clinical evidence behind a diagnosis the way a doctor would.

That physician-led approach, the company says, is what allows Pre-Bill AI to surface diagnoses that are supported in the chart but routinely missed by coding software that relies on keywords alone.

According to the company, every finding is linked to the supporting evidence in the chart, and final coding decisions remain with certified coders and clinical documentation specialists.

Partners From Coast to Coast

Syauctus AI has built its go-to-market around two kinds of partners: hospitals that use Pre-Bill AI directly, and RCM companies that bring it to the providers they already serve.

On the hospital side, the company works with multiple health systems and hospitals ranging from small clinics to large health systems. On the RCM side, it partners with revenue cycle and coding companies that embed Pre-Bill AI into their existing coding and audit services.

"RCM companies already have the relationships and the coding teams," Dr. Rahul Varman said. "We give them a clinical intelligence layer that makes every reviewer more effective.

Meet the Founders

Siddharth Bose co-founded Syauctus AI to bring clinical intelligence into the part of healthcare where it is used least: the billing workflow.

He leads the company’s technology and product development. In his previous roles, Siddharth has launched flagship products for leading companies across the US, Canada and Europe.

"Every missed diagnosis is a patient whose care wasn't fully recognized," Siddharth said. "Getting that right is good for hospitals, good for data quality and, ultimately, good for patients."

Dr. Rahul Varman brings a practicing surgeon's view to Syauctus AI. As Chief Plastic Surgeon at CommonSpirit Health, one of the largest nonprofit health systems in the United States, he sees firsthand how much of a patient's clinical story can be lost between the operating room and the final claim.

"Physicians document the care they give, but documentation and coding don't always speak the same language," Dr. Varman said. "Pre-Bill AI bridges that gap, so the record reflects the patient we actually treated."
