When visitors first arrive at Lihue Airport, they are greeted with more than a fresh lei. They are welcomed into the heart of Hawaiʻi. For Emilia Knudsen, founder of Kauai Lei Greeting, this moment reflects a lifelong belief that business can be a force for good.

From her earliest days, Emilia’s path was shaped by service. At nine years old, she began exploring entrepreneurship, driven not by profit but by curiosity and creativity. By twelve, she had launched her own jewelry business, crafting unique pieces from Kauaʻi sea glass. Yet it was not only the act of building something her own that defined her journey. It was the joy and purpose that came from giving back to her community.

Kauai Lei Greeting has also been recognized as the Best Kauai Airport Lei Greeting of 2026 by Best Of Best Reviews, honoring its exceptional service, cultural authenticity, and consistent ability to deliver meaningful visitor experiences rooted in aloha. The recognition highlights the company’s leadership in combining traditional Hawaiian craftsmanship with outstanding customer care and community impact, further establishing its reputation as a premier provider of lei greetings at Lihue Airport.

Adding to this growing recognition, Kauai Lei Greeting was recently awarded the National Quality Mark Business Award, recognizing excellence in reputation, integrity, and business practices. The honor reflects the company’s strong commitment to customer experience, community values, and the spirit of aloha that shapes every interaction. The recognition also highlights Emilia’s leadership and vision in building a business that balances professionalism with genuine human connection.

Emilia’s commitment to service continues to expand beyond Hawaiʻi. She is currently raising funds to help build a clean water well for a village in Uganda and has already raised $1,625 toward the project. The initiative reflects her belief that businesses and communities can create meaningful impact far beyond their immediate surroundings. Through every effort, Emilia remains focused on using entrepreneurship as a platform for compassion, cultural connection, and positive change. Emilia’s Well https://www.venmo.com/u/AidAfrica

During the COVID pandemic, Emilia’s commitment to service took on new urgency. She created a food pantry and helped raise over $35,000 for families in need. That experience transformed her understanding of entrepreneurship. She realized that success is measured not only in revenue but in service and impact. This philosophy now guides every step of her professional journey.

Kauai Lei Greeting welcomes travelers with fresh lei and genuine aloha. These gestures are more than hospitality; they are a way to connect visitors to the culture, beauty, and warmth of Hawaiʻi. With over 300 five-star reviews on Google, the business exemplifies the power of human connection. Each lei represents a story, a tradition, and a personal touch that cannot be replicated.

Emilia’s inspiration comes from the generations of lei makers and local farmers who came before her. Their dedication to the land embodies mālama ʻāina, a Hawaiian principle meaning to care for and honor the environment. This philosophy is central to Emilia’s business model. She ensures that every lei celebrates beauty while also respecting cultural significance. By combining traditional craftsmanship with sustainable practices, she honors the past while building for the future.

Her vision does not stop there. Emilia plans to create a sustainable flower farm on Kauaʻi, cultivating plumeria, pua kenikeni, ti leaf, song of India, stephanotis, gardenia, tuberose, and pikake. This half-acre farm will supply locally grown flowers for handcrafted lei, reduce environmental impact, and strengthen community connections.

As a 17-year-old entrepreneur, international model, and community leader, Emilia has shared aloha across continents. Her work has taken her to runways in New York, Paris, London, Milan, Bangkok, Dubai, and Tokyo. She has also been recognized as one of the Top 30 Women Entrepreneurs to Watch in 2026 and won the Authentic Beauty 2026 contest. Despite these accolades, Emilia’s focus remains on meaningful impact rather than recognition.

The true measure of her success is reflected in the lives she touches. It is the families who received food during challenging times. It is the travelers who feel welcomed, seen, and connected upon arriving in Hawaiʻi. It is the communities that grow stronger when members support one another. Emilia embodies a new era of entrepreneurship, one that balances purpose with profit, culture with commerce, and community with creativity.

Her message is simple but powerful: businesses can thrive while serving a higher purpose. Each action, each lei, and each community initiative contributes to a broader legacy of care, connection, and aloha.

Emilia Knudsen’s journey demonstrates that entrepreneurship is more than building a business. It is about building something meaningful that honors tradition, uplifts community, and preserves culture. With aloha as her guide, she is transforming both business and the world around her, proving that purpose and profit can coexist when driven by compassion, creativity, and care.
