Run for His Glory 5K Brings Livingston County Together Through Fitness, Faith, and Community

Communities grow stronger when people come together around a shared purpose. On August 8, 2026, runners, walkers, families, churches, and local organizations from across Livingston County will gather at Parker Middle School in Howell for the Run for His Glory 5K Run and Walk, an event designed to celebrate fitness, fellowship, and community while supporting important local initiatives.
Open to competitive runners, casual walkers, families, students, and church groups, the event welcomes participants of all experience levels. Whether someone is chasing a personal best, enjoying a morning walk with friends, or simply looking for a meaningful way to become more involved locally, the Run for His Glory 5K offers an opportunity to connect with neighbors while supporting the community.
Helping introduce the event to even more people is Jazmin Peck, a Howell resident who has spent more than a decade working in social media and marketing. As a stay-at-home mom, advocate for neurodiversity, and longtime supporter of community initiatives, she regularly volunteers her time to help local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and events reach a wider audience.
For Jazmin, promoting the race isn't about marketing an event, it's about helping neighbors discover opportunities to connect, support one another, and become more engaged in the community they call home.
More Than Just a Race
The Run for His Glory 5K is designed to bring people together regardless of age or ability. Participants can register for the traditional 5K Run and Walk, choose the 5K Lite option, or even participate virtually if they are unable to attend in person.
The event features professionally timed results provided by the Michigan Running Foundation, race shirts for early registrants while supplies last, finisher medals for the first 500 participants, post-race refreshments, music, and awards across multiple age groups. Local cross-country teams are also encouraged to participate as an opportunity to test their preseason performance.
Organizers hope to make this the biggest and friendliest 5K Livingston County has ever seen by bringing churches, families, schools, and community members together around a shared mission.
That mission is one of the reasons Jazmin wanted to become involved.
"When events like this bring people together, everyone benefits," she says. "The more people who know about them, the more impact they can have."
Supporting Organizations That Make a Difference
The impact of the Run for His Glory 5K extends well beyond race day. A portion of the event's proceeds supports Love INC of the Greater Livingston Area, a nonprofit organization serving individuals and families throughout Livingston County.
Among its many programs is New Creation, which provides free weekly one-on-one mentoring, budget coaching, and support with basic essential items. Through practical guidance and meaningful relationships, the program helps participants build greater stability while working toward long-term independence.
For Jazmin, highlighting organizations like Love INC is one of the most rewarding parts of volunteering her time. She believes social media can do much more than promote events, it can connect people with resources and organizations that are making a real difference in their own neighborhoods.
Building Community Through Connection
While social media often focuses on trends and personal branding, Jazmin has chosen to use it differently. Rather than seeking the spotlight herself, she enjoys helping local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community events receive the visibility they deserve.
Over the years, she has used her marketing experience both professionally and as a volunteer to support initiatives throughout Livingston County. Whether she's creating content, sharing local stories, or promoting events like the Run for His Glory 5K, her goal remains the same: helping strengthen the community by encouraging people to get involved.
She believes even something as simple as sharing a post can introduce someone to a local event, inspire them to support a worthwhile cause, or encourage them to participate in something they may never have discovered otherwise.
As Howell and Livingston County continue to grow, those connections become increasingly valuable.
