The Priceless Leadership Movement: Rehumanizing Work

A national movement led by Scott Doggett is helping leaders see people differently—and lead them better.

Organizations spend billions of dollars on engagement platforms, recognition tools, surveys, workplace perks, and new technologies. Yet many employees still walk into work feeling unseen, undervalued, and disconnected.

Scott Doggett noticed this gap throughout his career, and it eventually shaped a mission.

As Founder and Chief Servant Leader of the National Academy of Leadership Development (NALD), he now leads the Priceless Leadership Movement, a growing national effort to rehumanize leadership and the workplace. Its central belief is simple: people are priceless, and the way we lead should help them experience that value.

A Movement Born From Experience

The Priceless Leadership Movement did not begin as a marketing idea. It grew from more than thirty years of executive leadership, learning and development, organizational culture, and hospitality experience.

Doggett previously served as Vice President of Learning and Development for Holiday Inn Club Vacations, where he built the company’s learning academy and led major initiatives in leadership development, succession planning, performance management, recognition, onboarding, and culture.

His perspective deepened further while leading Christian leadership development initiatives for World Vision USA. Across those experiences, he saw a consistent pattern: when leaders genuinely treat people as human beings of extraordinary value rather than simply titles, numbers, or resources, the way people experience work begins to change.

That realization became the foundation of a larger movement.

Doggett often summarizes his philosophy in a simple line:

“You get better work from people when you take better care of people.”

At the heart of the movement is another idea: when leaders see people differently, they begin to lead people differently.

Why Programs Alone Fall Short

Most workplace solutions focus on programs, perks, processes, or performance metrics. The Priceless Leadership Movement focuses on something more fundamental: the everyday experiences leaders create.

The way leaders listen, communicate, respond to mistakes, recognize contributions, navigate conflict, provide clarity, and support growth determines whether employees feel like valued human beings or simply resources to be managed.

Culture, in other words, is shaped less by slogans than by small, consistent moments of respect, trust, and human connection.

The movement calls these interactions Priceless Moments.

A Priceless Moment is an everyday interaction that communicates: You matter. Your contribution matters. And you are more than the label placed on you.

These moments do not require another corporate initiative or large budget. They are practical, repeatable behaviors leaders can use immediately.

How leaders see people influences how they treat people. How people are treated shapes how they experience work. And those experiences influence trust, engagement, collaboration, adaptability, retention, and performance.

Human Leadership in the Age of AI

The message is especially timely as artificial intelligence rapidly transforms how organizations operate.

NALD does not position itself against technology. Instead, it argues that the more technologically capable organizations become, the more intentionally human their leadership must become.

AI can analyze information, automate processes, increase productivity, and reshape jobs. Yet the distinctly human responsibilities of leadership will only grow in importance.

Organizations will still need leaders who can build trust, create psychological safety, demonstrate empathy, provide clarity, develop people, and help employees adapt to change without losing their sense of dignity or belonging.

The Priceless Leadership Movement sees the AI revolution not only as a technological transformation, but also as a leadership challenge.

The future of work may increasingly be powered by artificial intelligence, but it will still be experienced by human beings.

What Makes NALD Different

NALD is not a traditional training vendor, motivational brand, or degree-granting institution. It is building a movement around a belief that can transform workplaces.

Rather than focusing only on what leaders do, NALD asks leaders to examine how they see the people they lead. That distinction matters because how leaders see people influences the conversations they have, the decisions they make, the trust they build, and the culture they create.

NALD brings this philosophy to life through leadership workshops, keynote presentations, organizational consulting, executive retreats, masterclasses, faculty-led programs, and train-the-trainer experiences.

The organization also offers the Priceless Workplace Survey™, developed in partnership with the Global Leadership & Executive Training Institute, to help organizations better understand the human experience of work within their teams.

Signature experiences such as Priceless Leadership and The Spirit of Authentic Leadership help leaders translate these ideas into practical behaviors they can use in their organizations.

The goal is not simply to inspire leaders during an event. It is to change what happens when they return to work on Monday morning.

The Voice Behind the Movement

Doggett is the author of Priceless! See People Differently. Lead People Better., a book that distills the philosophy behind the movement into an accessible framework for leaders at every level.

He is also the founder of National Learning & Development Month, which he established in 2016 to celebrate the professionals who help people and organizations learn, grow, and develop.

October 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of National Learning & Development Month, and NALD is commemorating the milestone with free learning opportunities throughout the month.

As a keynote speaker, facilitator, author, and leadership practitioner, Doggett speaks frequently about leadership, workplace culture, employee engagement, servant leadership, the future of work, and the human side of artificial intelligence.

Throughout his career, he has led large-scale leadership and culture initiatives and equipped leaders across corporate, nonprofit, association, education, construction, hospitality, and public-service environments.

While Doggett’s Christian faith informs his personal understanding of servant leadership and the inherent value of people, the Priceless Leadership Movement is designed to serve leaders and organizations from all backgrounds, industries, and beliefs.

That inclusive spirit extends to the movement’s growing national faculty, now made up of 40 leadership practitioners across the country who are helping carry the Priceless Leadership message into organizations and communities.

Together, they are expanding the reach of a hopeful idea at a time when many workplaces are wrestling with disengagement, rapid change, and growing uncertainty.

A Hopeful Vision for the Future of Work

The story of the Priceless Leadership Movement is ultimately optimistic.

At a time when work is becoming more automated, more measured, more digital, and often more impersonal, NALD is helping leaders preserve what should never be lost: the humanity of the people they have been entrusted to lead.

As organizations navigate AI, disengagement, rapid change, and growing distrust, they need leaders who can hold steady on the things technology cannot replace: trust, empathy, clarity, connection, dignity, and belonging.

These are not simply soft extras. They are part of the human foundation that allows individuals, teams, and organizations to flourish.

The movement offers a hopeful alternative to the idea that performance and people must somehow compete. Instead, NALD argues that the two are deeply connected.

When people feel seen, valued, trusted, and supported, they are better positioned to contribute, collaborate, grow, and perform.
