AAWTA Launches "We Are Black History" Campaign to Honor African American Women in Trucking This Black History Month
Atlanta, GA – February 2, 2025 – The African American Women Trucking Association (AAWTA) is proud to announce the launch of its inaugural "We Are Black History" campaign in celebration of Black History Month. This initiative highlights the significant contributions of African American women in the trucking industry and aims to honor their legacy while supporting programs that foster education, economic empowerment, mental health, and leadership development.
Throughout February, AAWTA invites individuals and organizations to join in recognizing the pioneers, leaders, and everyday professionals who have helped shape the transportation industry. As part of this initiative, the association aims to raise $5,000 to support its mission-driven programs.
“Our campaign underscores the incredible impact that African American women have made within the trucking industry, often overcoming substantial barriers to pave the way for future generations,” said Nicole Ward, President & Co-founder of AAWTA. “By sharing their stories and honoring their contributions, we hope to inspire and empower more women to thrive in this field.”
