Fernando Tovar “El Alcaraván” brings Venezuelan joropo to Madrid with an intimate 2026 concert celebrating music, roots, and culture.

Venezuelan llanera music will once again resonate powerfully in Europe with the arrival of Fernando Tovar “El Alcaraván,” who continues to expand his international career with a highly anticipated tour of Spain in 2026. The singer, originally from the state of Apure, will perform on Saturday, November 7, at 3:00 p.m. at Los Guayos Sabor Llanero, located at Paseo Alberto Palacios 83, Villaverde Alto, Madrid.
The event promises to be a celebration of Venezuelan identity, joropo, and the traditions of the plains. Under the concept “Fernando Tovar Intimate,” the artist will offer an intimate and emotional performance, accompanied by La Negra Linares, Ángel Maldonado, Carmencita Belisario, Milagros Valbuena, Carlos Terán, and the musical group Remembranzas Llaneras.
The event promises to be a celebration of Venezuelan identity, joropo, and the traditions of the plains. Known artistically as “El Alcaraván” (The Curlew), Fernando Tovar has crafted a style that blends the traditional essence of llanera music with a contemporary vision aimed at new generations and international audiences.
His career has been marked by a constant presence at fairs, festivals, popular celebrations, and major events dedicated to Venezuelan culture. His voice and interpretive style have taken him to stages in Venezuela, the United States, Colombia, Panama, Peru, France, Spain, Ecuador, Argentina, and Chile. This international expansion gave rise to “La Ruta del Alcaraván” (The Curlew Route), a concept that represents an intense schedule of performances and permanently connects Venezuela with various destinations across the Americas and Europe. In recent years, Tovar has participated in emblematic events such as the Elorza Fairs, the Alma Llanera International Fairs, the San Juan de los Morros International Fairs, and various agro-industrial and cultural celebrations held in Venezuela.
His international career also includes performances in Panama City, Arauca, Buenos Aires, Santiago, Chile, and numerous cities in the United States, including Miami, Orlando, Dallas, Memphis, Atlanta, Houston, Charleston, and locations in North and South Carolina.

Fernando Tovar's artistic growth is also reflected in his musical and audiovisual productions. Among his notable works are "Indetenible," with renowned singer Luis Silva; "Llanerías," with Miguelito Díaz; "Un pleito por las gemelas," with Colombian artist Milena Benites; and "La Trilogía Tovar," with Mayra Tovar and Wilmer Tovar. These productions are complemented by songs and projects such as "Tiempo Vencío," "Dignidad," "La Fuerza del Corazón," "Brisita Chaparralera," "Lo Más Importante," and the audiovisual project "Tradicional," created to highlight Venezuelan identity and cultural roots.
In 2025, after receiving approval for his U.S. O-1 visa for individuals with extraordinary abilities, Tovar strengthened his international presence with the "Los Colosos de la Nueva Generación" tour, developed in collaboration with singer-songwriter Miguelito Díaz.
That same year, he received a Special Mention from the Latin Mara International Awards in Maracay, the Tacarigua de Oro International Award in Miami, and recognition as Entrepreneur of the Year, also in Miami.
During 2026, Fernando Tovar took another decisive step in his professional evolution with the creation of Alcaraván Records, his own recording studio. This project expands his presence within the music industry and allows him to develop new productions, collaborations, and proposals in the areas of recording, production, and artistic direction.
Tovar also participated in directing a solidarity music project with producer and composer Jhon Jarvy Ubaque "Dartañan," conceived as a message of hope and unity for Venezuela. The initiative brought together figures such as Porfi Baloa, Nelson Arrieta, Reynaldo Armas, Miguelito Díaz, Milena Benítez, Yenifer Mora, and Nacho, among other artists.
This evolution demonstrates that his work is no longer limited to performing. Fernando Tovar is advancing as a creator, producer, artistic director, and promoter of a new generation committed to preserving and promoting Venezuelan music.
