The New York Knicks secured a hard-fought victory over the Brooklyn Nets, edging them 99-95 in a thrilling matchup. Julius Randle led the charge for the Knicks, scoring 28 points, including clutch shots in the final minutes. The Nets struggled with turnovers and missed opportunities down the stretch, which allowed New York to seal the victory despite a strong effort from Mikal Bridges and Ben Simmons, who combined for 41 points.
The Toronto Raptors proved their strength with a dominant 109-93 win over the Orlando Magic. Pascal Siakam delivered a stellar performance, finishing with 32 points and 10 rebounds, while Fred VanVleet added 22 points. The Raptors’ defense stifled Orlando’s offense, forcing the Magic into difficult shots throughout the game. Despite strong individual efforts from Paolo Banchero, Orlando couldn’t match Toronto's scoring depth.
In Portland, the Trail Blazers triumphed over the Miami Heat, defeating them 116-107. Damian Lillard's 35-point performance was the highlight of the evening, with the star guard hitting several key shots in the second half to propel Portland to victory. Miami struggled to stop Lillard and was unable to keep up with Portland’s offensive pace, despite Jimmy Butler’s 29-point effort.
The Denver Nuggets displayed their championship pedigree with a dominant 144-109 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. Nikola Jokić was a force, recording a triple-double with 24 points, 14 rebounds, and 12 assists. The Nuggets’ high-powered offense overwhelmed the 76ers, while Philadelphia's defense couldn’t contain Denver's shooting from beyond the arc.
Finally, the Los Angeles Lakers cruised to a 111-88 victory over the Washington Wizards. LeBron James, who led the Lakers with 27 points, dominated both ends of the court, while Anthony Davis added 22 points and 11 rebounds. Washington struggled to find rhythm, and Los Angeles’ defense stifled any attempts at a comeback.
