NVIDIA Unveils GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs at CES 2025

At CES 2025, NVIDIA introduced the GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards, powered by the new Blackwell architecture. The flagship RTX 5090, priced at $1,999, and the RTX 5070, at $549, offer significant performance enhancements for gamers, creators, and developers. These GPUs are set to be available starting January 30, 2025.

Blackwell Architecture and Performance Enhancements

The RTX 50 Series is built on NVIDIA's Blackwell architecture, featuring fourth-generation Ray Tracing (RT) cores and fifth-generation Tensor Cores. These advancements enable real-time ray tracing and AI-driven rendering, delivering up to twice the performance of the previous RTX 40 Series. ​

DLSS 4 and Neural Rendering

NVIDIA's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology has been upgraded to version 4 in the RTX 50 Series. DLSS 4 utilizes transformer-based AI models to enhance image quality and stability, introducing Multi-Frame Generation that can produce multiple AI-generated frames for each traditionally rendered frame. This results in up to an 8x performance boost compared to traditional rendering methods. ​

GDDR7 Memory and Connectivity

The RTX 50 Series is the first consumer GPU lineup to incorporate GDDR7 memory, offering increased memory bandwidth over previous generations. The series also supports DisplayPort 2.1b and HDMI 2.1a standards, facilitating higher resolutions and refresh rates. ​

Product Lineup and Availability

The RTX 50 Series includes several models:​

  • RTX 5090: Priced at $1,999, available from January 30, 2025.​

  • RTX 5070: Priced at $549, available from February 2025.

These GPUs will be available as NVIDIA Founders Edition models and through add-in card providers such as ASUS, MSI, and GIGABYTE.
