Sovereign by Design, Human by Default

Paradyne AI’s Sentinel Core wins two Silver Davey Awards, highlighting the Las Vegas firm’s focus on discretion, ethical AI, and science driven model selection.

LAS VEGAS, Paradyne AI, the Las Vegas company that engineers sovereign AI end-to-end solutions, has received two 2026 Silver Davey Awards for Sentinel Core, the flagship of its Sentinel suite: Creative Innovation, AI Utility Integration, and AI Features, Best Use of Responsible & Ethical AI.

Sentinel Core is built for investigative, audit, and intelligence workflows. It resolves entities across large record sets, discovers relationships, and binds every finding to its source record, so that an analyst, an auditor, or an examiner can see why a conclusion was reached. The recognition, the company says, confirms something it set out to prove: that a system of this complexity can be presented in a way that is humanistic and intuitive, with a person visibly in the loop at every consequential step.

“The hard part of an investigative system is not the model. It is making the reasoning legible to the person who has to sign their name to the result,” said Alam Jamal, Paradyne AI’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Architect. “The team built Sentinel Core so that the complexity is there when you need it and out of the way when you don’t. Two Silver Daveys tell us that work landed.”

The awards follow another recognition. In September, Jamal received the Joint Meritorious Civilian Service Medal, the second-highest civilian award conferred by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as the final decoration of a nearly two-decade career in defense intelligence that concluded in a senior civilian role at U.S. Special Operations Command. Taken together, the company says, the two honors reflect the same thing: a leadership and a team whose standards were formed in environments where discretion is not optional.

Engineering for discretion

That background shapes what Paradyne AI builds, and for whom. Its clients are organizations that cannot send their questions out of the building: regulated compliance functions, operators whose customer data is the business, program offices whose requirements are themselves sensitive. For them, the company engineers sovereign AI, open-weight models isolated on laboratory-characterized hardware, inside the client’s own environment, on infrastructure the client owns.

The boundary of that environment is governed by their product “Marquis,” Paradyne’s patent-protected digital membrane that inspects, controls, and audits every specified outbound connection. Policy is default-deny in both directions. Every crossing is recorded in an append-only, hash-chained ledger, and replies are sanitized before anything inside reads them. Nothing inside the enclave has a route out. Only Marquis does, and only to connections engineered and listed in advance.

The economics follow from the architecture. “Tokens are a pseudo-commodity; the industry meters them like electricity,” Jamal said. “But the tokens an organization generates carry its judgment. On a hosted platform, that judgment becomes the vendor’s training signal. In a sovereign system it stays yours, and the model improves for you alone. Own the hardware, own the models, own the tokens. Everything we do follows from that.”

Warranted sense-making

What the company says distinguishes its work is not only where a system runs but how it reasons. Most AI platforms, in Paradyne’s view, stop at ontology, a model of what exists: the entities, the relationships, the schema. Paradyne engineers for two further questions. Epistemology: how the system knows what it claims, on what warrant, and with what confidence, which is why Sentinel Core binds every finding to its evidence, runs independent models that surface disagreement rather than average it away, and abstains when the evidence is insufficient. Axiology: what matters to the client, stated explicitly, so that the system ranks and reports against the client’s priorities rather than a vendor’s defaults.

The company calls the result warranted sense-making: findings a decision-maker can act on because the basis for each is visible, the confidence is stated, and the values applied are the client’s own.

“An ontology tells you what the pieces are. It does not tell you how much to trust a conclusion, or whether it is the conclusion that matters to you,” Jamal said. “Those are the questions a commander, a compliance officer, or an auditor actually asks. We design for them from the start.”

Publishing the science

Paradyne AI also intends to openly release its benchmarking work. In the coming months the company will begin publishing its studies on how it evaluates and benchmarks the open-weight models it selects for client deployments, the tests it runs, the workloads it runs them on, and the hardware it runs them against.

The timing is deliberate. As the frontier laboratories change models, terms, and prices on their own schedules, organizations that have built on hosted services inherit that volatility. Paradyne’s position is that durable capability rests on the foundational science of intelligence, applied AI, machine learning, and deep learning, and on the engineered convergence of hardware with multiple AI capabilities fused into a single deployment built to the client’s need.

“Model selection is an engineering decision, and engineering decisions should be reproducible,” Jamal said. “We characterize the hardware in our laboratory before it ships. We should be just as transparent about why a model made the cut.”

About Paradyne AI

Paradyne AI engineers sovereign AI end-to-end solutions: AI systems that operate entirely within the client’s own environment, on infrastructure the client owns, with models adapted to the client’s data and retained as the client’s property. Headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, the company characterizes every hardware configuration in its own laboratory before delivery. Its platform is patent-protected, and the company is a member of the NVIDIA Inception program. Sentinel Core received two 2026 Silver Davey Awards, including Best Use of Responsible & Ethical AI.
