Nationwide – December 29, 2024(USANews.com) – December 13th, 2024, marked the 4th anniversary of a day that could have broken me—my wrongful arrest by my local (Scott, Louisiana) Police Department.
For a long time, I wrestled with anger and frustration, questioning why Law Enforcement would carry out such an intentionally malicious act on an innocent individual. Eventually, I let go of seeking answers and instead decided to take what was meant to dehumanize and embarrass me and turn it into fuel for something GREATER.
Imagine being a standup member of your local community who donates and volunteers time and resources to others. Imagine that in the previous month (November 2021) celebrating being the cover feature article of a local inspirational magazine. Imagine just 2 short weeks later ….your mugshot from being wrongfully arrested stirring up enough controversy to go viral online. Something to note about the arrest, it came about about two days later and just a few hours after I com
Imagine having to show up and smile and interact with the heavily judgmental public all while living through one of the absolute worst moments in your life. Imagine EVERYONE knowing about it and not hesitating to as ask you about it all day everyday.
Imagine having news crews camped out outside your store wanting an exclusive story. Imagine being judged from head to toe, every action, every word. Imagine people freely can Google you and one of the first things that come up is your w6&6rongful arrest article and mugshot.
Overcoming isn’t a one-time event—it’s a journey. I faced stages of depression and the humiliation of seeing my story play out on TV screens, across social media, and in courtrooms. Yet, even in my lowest moments, I chose to KEEP showing up to give my best to my customers as well as be a great leader to my employees. I am proud to say that despite all Super Taters has a 4.5 star rating across all platforms and is a thriving original concept, award winning, independently owned/operated establishment.
Fast forward to 2024, and that same face from the mugshot has graced or been featured:
•2x in Forbes
•3x New York Weekly
• 2x in The Los Angeles Wire
•CEO Weekly
•Times Square Billboard in NYC
•Cover of globally published “Tap-In” Magazine
