Kenneth L. Kieser is an award-winning writer and photographer whose fifty-year career spans several thousand magazine and newspaper bylines and eight published books. Raised around the historic stockyards and open country of St. Joseph, Missouri, he draws on a lifetime spent among horses and rodeos and on years around the working docks of Kansas City. He also teaches writing and leads hunter-education courses, and he has guided many young anglers over the years. Surviving the Twisted Trail is his third western novel.
