Paris France, SEPTEMBER 2025 - (USAnews.com) – Prepare to have your perceptions of small-town life shattered as Côte d’Azur Webfest and Wild Wolf Howlin Productions presents its unique theatrical adaptation of Edgar Lee Masters’ classic work, Spoon River Anthology. Opening on October 1st at Apollo Theatre in Paris France this production invites a European audience to the Spoon River cemetery, where the deceased citizens rise from their graves to tell the startling, poignant, and often scandalous truths about their lives.
Directors Eugenia Kuzmina and Clinton H. Wallace has combined forces to craft a powerful and intimate staging of Masters’ free-verse epitaphs, weaving together a tapestry of secret loves, betrayals, and unfulfilled dreams. “These stories are just as relevant today as they were over a century ago,” says Eugenia Kuzmina.

“These poems give voice to the unspoken truths of a community, revealing the universal struggles of hope, disillusionment, and the search for meaning,” said Clinton H. Wallace. "Spoon River Anthology is a timeless work because the human stories it tells are universal," said co-producer Yvonne Pollack.
The production will feature a talented ensemble cast of 20 actors representing a variety of countries, each actor will embody a doomed character to bring the town of Spoon River to life. Audiences will meet a diverse cast of souls, from the tragic Anne Rutledge to the defiant Fiddler Jones, all sharing their candid epitaphs from beyond the grave.
