The Real Estate Veteran Who Adapts to Every Challenge

NATIONWIDE - DECEMBER 2025 - (
USAnews.com) Nancy Prince’s story is one of resilience, adaptation, and leadership in the ever-changing real estate market. Her career began in 1979, during one of the most volatile economic periods in U.S. history. The country was caught in the throes of stagflation, with mortgage rates climbing to historically high levels. Yet, it was in these turbulent times that Prince began to hone the skills that would make her a prominent figure in Southern California real estate.

Over the next 45 years, she would navigate an industry in constant flux, from the rise of national franchises to the digital transformation currently sweeping through the market. Today, as the Team Lead at  Real Brokerage Technologies, Prince is at the forefront of a new era in real estate, one where technology and innovation play crucial roles in scaling business success.

A Career Built on Adaptation and Market Mastery

Prince’s first chapter in real estate unfolded during a time of economic hardship, but her entry into the industry was no accident. Starting her career in 1979, she faced an immediate challenge: how to thrive in a market plagued by soaring interest rates, which reached as high as 18% by 1981. During this period, the market was under pressure, and buyers were struggling to secure financing. However, instead of simply selling homes, Prince recognized an opportunity to offer creative solutions, including "creative financing" strategies such as seller carry-backs and adjustable-rate mortgages (ARMs). These tactics not only kept her business afloat but also helped her stand out as an innovative leader in the field.

By 1986, after seven years of navigating the complex landscape of franchise ownership, Prince transitioned into a corporate executive role at Coldwell Banker. Her ability to recruit talent, build strong teams, and adapt quickly to changing market conditions was pivotal in helping Coldwell Banker navigate both the boom years and the economic downturns that followed.

Turning Challenges into Opportunities: The Mark of a True Leader

While Prince’s leadership trajectory took her to Coldwell Banker, Prudential, Keller Williams, and eventually to Real Brokerage Technologies, her philosophy remained consistent: seize opportunities where others see obstacles. For example, in the early 1990s, when the Southern California economy faced a downturn and the aerospace industry collapsed in the San Fernando Valley, many real estate professionals struggled. Prince, however, saw this as an opportunity to refocus her operations on managing distressed properties, short sales, and other strategies that addressed the evolving needs of the market.

During the 2007-2009 housing crisis, Prince returned to her entrepreneurial roots and founded Keller Williams West Ventura County, a key move at a time when many businesses were struggling. Her experience and ability to stay grounded in core business principles helped establish her brokerage as a trusted name in the community.

In 2025, despite her thoughts of retirement, Prince returned to leadership in the industry, joining Real Brokerage Technologies. Once again, she embraced change, demonstrating her ability to navigate complex market shifts with foresight.

Leading the Digital Revolution with Real Brokerage Technologies

As the real estate industry transitions into the digital age, Nancy Prince views this shift as a chance to redefine leadership in the field. In 2025, she joined Real Brokerage Technologies, a cloud-based brokerage firm that integrates technology services into one mobile-first platform.

In this next phase of her career, Prince continues to embrace change, using her decades of experience to mentor the next generation of real estate professionals. With her "One Real" vision, she plans to leverage Real Brokerage’s unique model to help agents navigate a digital-first world while still emphasizing the time-tested principles of real estate. Her commitment to mentorship and growth will help ensure that future generations of agents can avoid common pitfalls and succeed in their careers.

“The market today reminds me of 2009,” Prince reflects. “The strategies that worked then, especially with respect to building your business during times of market volatility, are just as relevant today. Technology can amplify your efforts, but core principles such as negotiation, relationship-building, and resilience remain unchanged.”
