NATIONWIDE - NOVEMBER 2025 - (USAnews.com)
Interview by: Stephanie Wilson
Among the polished displays of Danish and international brands inside Salling , one of Denmark’s oldest and most iconic department stores , one area immediately stands out. Where most brands are defined by muted tones and understated minimalism, ROSA FAIZZAD bursts with color, confidence, and expressive silhouettes.
At the center stands a dark-green velvet sofa, where we finally sit down for a conversation , an interview months overdue after countless exchanged emails and rescheduled dates due to her busy schedule.
When Rosa greets me, she does so with a warm hug. It feels natural, as if we already know each other , perhaps because, in a way, we do. I’ve followed her journey through LinkedIn for some time, intrigued by her designs, her concept, and her rare combination of vision and purpose.
Rosa arrives with her signature grace , poised, radiant, and impeccably dressed in one of her own creations: a tailored dress suit that somehow manages to look both powerful and effortless. Her name, ROSA FAIZZAD, gleams in gold on the wall behind her , a fitting backdrop for a designer who has become one of Aarhus’ most captivating brand names.
It makes sense that ROSA FAIZZAD has found its home here. Both the designer and the department store Salling were born in Aarhus , two local stories rooted in vision, resilience, and community.
“It feels right to be here,” Rosa says. “Salling started in Aarhus, and so did I. We share similar values , about people, connection, and impact.”
Throughout our conversation, Rosa can’t help but smile, greet, and assist the women who stop by , many seemingly mesmerized by the boldness and sophistication of her collection. She moves with ease, shifting between designer and host, exuding a genuine warmth that reflects the essence of her brand.
It’s clear that her dedication extends far beyond the garments; it’s about the women who wear them.
“It was never about fashion,” she says softly, settling back onto the sofa, her eyes sweeping across the colorful pieces around us. “It is about elevating women’s circumstances through fashion.”
On Designing for Women Who Dare
Q: What does it mean to design for women who change the world?
Rosa:
I’ve always admired brave women , those who dare to change the world in their own way, whether by leading, creating, raising, inspiring, or simply daring.
My goal is to design pieces that help women step into that version of themselves , the version that feels unstoppable.
Q: You’re self-taught. How has that shaped your perspective on fashion?
Rosa:
It gave me freedom. I wasn’t taught the “rules,” so I never felt limited by them. I’ve always trusted my intuition, logic, and sense of what feels true.
For me, clothes aren’t just about aesthetics; I don’t design to make women look more beautiful, attractive, or desirable.
I design to transform how she sees and feels about herself, how she’s perceived by the world, and how fashion can help her achieve the success, acknowledgment, and respect she deserves.

On Style as Self-Expression and Power
Q: Your pieces are known for being both elegant and powerful. How do you define feminine strength?
Rosa:
Strength isn’t about being a certain way , it’s about being whole, genuine, and authentic.
I design for women who lead with empathy and presence. Those who manage to lead with kindness, firmness, grace, and ambition. My designs are meant to mirror that balance.
Q: Many women have described wearing your clothes as transformational. Why do you think that is?
Rosa:
I put a lot of effort into understanding the women I design for , their needs, wants, and pain points.
I have to be so good at my job that I know exactly what they want, even when they can’t quite express it themselves.
So when I present them with something that truly resonates, it shows instantly , it elevates them in every way: from the way they stand, move, and speak to the way they show up in the world.

On Representation and Real Women
Q: Your campaigns feature a wide range of women , executives, artists, and entrepreneurs. Why is that so central to your brand?
Rosa:
Our campaigns feature real women and actual role models who inspire me , women who show courage in their everyday lives. They come in all heights, shapes, and forms because their beauty lies not only in how they look on the outside but, more importantly, in the values, qualities, and strength they represent.
Q: You talk a lot about visibility and leadership. Do you see fashion as political?
Rosa:
What we wear communicates and reveals our stance before we even speak.
Fashion is powerful , it can open doors, shift perception, and challenge outdated ideas of what women should look like, sound like, or lead like. It’s not politics , it’s presence.
On Standing Apart
Q: Your designs stand out here , bold, colorful, expressive , in contrast to the muted Scandinavian aesthetic around you. Is that intentional?
Rosa:
Since we don’t follow trends or color forecasts, we naturally stand out.
The women I design for seek something unique and distinctive. They want to express their individuality and know they don’t have to blend in to belong. Often trailblazers, they lead rather than follow, inspiring those around them by example.
Our approach combines Scandinavian minimalism, sophistication, and timeless elegance with a twist of international charm. This allows us to connect with women across cultures, borders, and fashion eras , strengthening our global vision.
On Purpose and the Future
Q: Your work blends elegance with purpose. How do you keep that balance?
Rosa:
Purpose is the foundation. Every piece, every campaign, every event , it has to connect back to the idea of empowerment.
I never dreamed of becoming a fashion designer simply to create beautiful clothing; my ambition has always been to transform the conversation around femininity and leadership.
Q: What do you hope women feel when they wear ROSA FAIZZAD?
Rosa:
That they’re valuable, capable, and deserving. The world needs them , and it’s time for them to take the lead and pursue their calling.
“When a woman dresses with intention,” Rosa says quietly, “she doesn’t just change how she’s seen , she changes what she believes she can achieve. And that’s where true change begins.”
Closing Reflection
Our conversation extends beyond fashion, delving into identity, leadership, and purpose.
The hum of Salling continues around us, with footsteps echoing softly as customers admire the vibrant collection contrasting with its muted surroundings.
Rosa pauses to assist another client, her warm smile and calm presence reflecting her unwavering focus. She moves with quiet assurance, sharing a piece of her vision, not just selling.
Watching her, it's clear that ROSA FAIZZAD is more than a brand — it’s a journey of connection and confidence, where femininity is celebrated, not subdued, and that has the power to change the world.
