RR Health + Fitness Launches Badonka Fuel™, a Free Nutrition App Built From My Own Wake-Up Call

My companion app to Badonka Boost gives members a simple way to track food, hit their macros, and stay consistent. No subscription required.

DALLAS, TEXAS, September 19, 2026. I'm Robert Renaud, founder of RR Health + Fitness, and today I'm launching Badonka Fuel™, a nutrition and calorie-tracking app built to help everyday people create a habit that actually sticks. It joins Badonka Boost™, my structured workout app, as the second piece of a plan I've had for a while: give members everything they need to train and eat with intention, in one connected system, under one brand with a name you will absolutely say out loud at least once.

Why I Built This

Badonka Fuel started with a simple question: was I actually eating enough protein for how active I was? A nutritionist friend told me I wasn't, so that night I started logging my meals. Active adults need noticeably more protein than the general recommendation, and logging made it possible for me to actually hit that number instead of guessing at it. [2]

What I didn't expect was everything else the log revealed. Calories I was "wasting" on habitual desk snacking that had nothing to do with hunger. How much I was really eating in a day versus what I assumed. Small, honest patterns that are easy to miss without writing anything down.

Over time, I saw real, visible changes in my health and physique, not from a crash plan, but from staying consistent. Part of what kept me consistent was the app itself: it subtracted the calories I burned in a workout from my daily total, which gave me a routine and a reason to show up and train more often, not less. I wasn't trying to build an app. I was trying to hit my protein goal. But once I could see everything, food, workouts, the whole picture, staying consistent stopped feeling like willpower. It just became what I did.

The app I originally relied on for years eventually shut down without warning. As a personal trainer, I realized how many of my own clients had been leaning on that same tool. So instead of searching for a replacement, I built one: Badonka Fuel.

Why Tracking Your Nutrition Actually Matters

A nutrition app isn't just a place to store numbers. It's a mirror. Most people underestimate how much they actually eat, and simply writing it down changes behavior. In one of the largest weight-loss studies ever conducted, people who kept a daily food log lost roughly twice as much weight as people who kept none, and the more consistently they logged, the more they lost. [1]

That's the real value of an app like Badonka Fuel: not a stricter diet, but a clearer picture. Once you can see where your calories are actually going, better choices tend to follow almost automatically. No willpower speech required.

What's Inside Badonka Fuel

  • Full macro and calorie tracking: not just protein, but carbs, fat, and total calories, logged in seconds
  • Barcode scanning: skip the manual data entry for packaged foods
  • Workout-linked calorie tracking: calories burned during a workout are subtracted from the day's total, so nutrition and training talk to each other instead of living in separate apps
  • Protein reminders: a nudge when you're falling behind pace for the day, not a guilt trip
  • Daily affirmations: a small mindset boost built into a habit-tracking tool
  • Weekly summaries: your real trend over time, instead of judging yourself off one good or bad day

That workout-tracking piece matters more than it sounds like it should. Apps that combine self-monitoring of food with self-monitoring of exercise are associated with people sticking to their routine more consistently than those tracking nothing, or tracking by memory alone. [3] In practice, that's the loop I built the app around: log it, move more, watch the number respond, repeat.

Part of the RR Health + Fitness Family

Badonka Fuel is the nutrition half of a two-app system. It joins Badonka Boost, my structured training app built around a library of 185 exercises, so members can pair what they eat with a real, guided workout plan instead of piecing one together on their own.

Badonka Fuel is available free with the purchase of any RR Health + Fitness product, including my signature Jacked Ass Belt hip thrust belt, Badonka Bands, and RR H+F Resistance Bands, and free to every member of the Jacked Ass Club, my fitness community on Facebook.
