TNT Sports has acquired the U.S. television rights to 24 of the 63 matches in the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup. The tournament, set to be held in the United States in 2025, will feature 32 teams and marks a major shift in FIFA’s efforts to globalize club competition.

In a significant development for soccer broadcasting in the U.S., TNT Sports has finalized a deal to air a portion of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, marking a new chapter in the tournament’s global expansion. The agreement grants TNT the rights to 24 matches, including key group-stage and knockout-round fixtures, alongside streaming partner DAZN.

The 2025 edition of the Club World Cup will be the first to feature 32 teams, replacing the traditional seven-team format that had been in place since 2000. With top clubs from Europe, South America, and other regions competing, FIFA aims to elevate the tournament’s profile, positioning it as a rival to the UEFA Champions League in prestige and commercial value.

For TNT Sports, the acquisition further strengthens its growing soccer portfolio. The network already holds broadcasting rights to the UEFA Champions League and domestic U.S. soccer, making this deal a natural extension of its commitment to covering elite club football.

“We’re excited to bring this historic event to American audiences,” said TNT Sports President Luis Silberwasser. “With the world’s biggest clubs coming to the U.S., this will be a tournament like no other.”

The expanded Club World Cup will take place from June 14 to July 13, 2025, across multiple U.S. cities. European giants like Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich have already qualified, while South American powerhouses like Flamengo and River Plate are expected to join them.

The tournament’s format, featuring a round-robin group stage followed by knockout rounds, closely mirrors the structure of the FIFA World Cup. With the U.S. hosting the event for the first time, expectations are high that it will draw record-breaking viewership and further cement soccer’s growing popularity in the country.

As excitement builds for the tournament, TNT’s coverage will play a crucial role in shaping how American audiences engage with what FIFA hopes will become one of the premier events in world football.
